Note that director Pietro Germi is best known to American audiences as the director of 1960s sexy Italian movies like "Divorce - Italian Style". But he was also an actor and a screenwriter, and in this movie, he did all three! Fans say that this is one of his very best movies, and it has Claudia Cardinale, in her second year of making movies, and just 21 years old! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
