Zanuck; "Suggested by the Kate Douglas Wiggin story"; an adaptation by of this classic 1909 children's play, which itself was based on the 1903 novel by Kate Douglas Wiggin; about an orphan girl who goes to live with her wealthy mean spinster aunts, and she eventually wins them over with her boundless optimism) starring Shirley Temple (in the title role as Rebecca Winstead), Randolph Scott, Jack Haley, Gloria Stuart, Phyllis Brooks, Helen Westley, Slim Summerville, Bill 'Bojangles' Robinson, Raymond Scott Quintet, Alan Dinehart, and J. Edward Bromberg. Note that this was a remake of both the 1917 Mary Pickford silent version, and the 1932 Marian Nixon version. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: SUPER IMPORTANT! THOUGH ONLY EIGHT OF THE STILLS ARE PICTURED, THE HIGH BIDDER ON THIS LOT WILL RECEIVE 16 STILLS FROM THIS MOVIE (but realize that on some of these lots with 9 or more stills there may be a few duplicates, mostly on post-1960 lots)! We realize there is an element of gambling to this, but we made only a small effort to find the best stills in these lots, and, if you have any willingness to gamble at all, you may find that you get some great stills that were not pictured! Please do NOT bid on this lot unless you can accept that you are only seeing eight of the stills. Also note that these stills are undated and measure 8" x 10", and appear to look identical to stills from the first release of this movie. But they are on a "newer" paper stock that is blank on the back ("newer" than the 1930s or 1940s, but consistent with the paper stock used in the 1960s, and the printing is quite nice). We believe that they were created in the 1960s when this movie was shown on TV, and that stills like these were distributed to TV stations. We have been consigned some large collections of stills that came directly from TV stations, and they included a large number of stills that are very similar to these, which makes us think it is even more likely that these were created in the 1960s for TV use. But we can't say for certain, so please do not bid on these stills unless you can accept that uncertainty as to when they were created. NOTE: On rare occasions, large lots of 9 or more black-and-white stills like this one can sometimes have one or more duplicated stills, but since we only picture 8 of the stills, if there are duplicates, they are likely not pictured. We try to note when this happens, but we may not catch it every time, so please do not bid on such lots unless you can accept this possibility. Condition: very good to fine. These stills are in very nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
