An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Italian Locandina Movie Poster (measures 13" x 27 1/2" [33 x 70 cm]) (Learn More) La Strada (released in the U.S. in 1956 as "La Strada [The Road]"), the 1954 Federico Fellini Italian romantic love triangle circus melodrama ("Filmed in Italy - Where it happened! In English!"; Academy Award Winner 'Best Foreign Picture'; about a brutish strongman in a traveling circus, who virtually buys a young woman to work as his assistant, and they have a complicated relationship, which is even more complicated by a handsome trapeze performer they run into) starring Anthony Quinn (billed as "Academy Award Winner Anthony Quinn"), Giulietta Masina, Richard Basehart, Aldo Silvani, Marcella Rovere, Livia Venturini, and Gustavo Giorgi. Note that Fellini had been a screenwriter since 1942 and a director since 1950, with great success, but it was THIS movie which gave him worldwide acclaim and started him on his road to being one of the world's greatest directors. This movie is considered his first masterpiece, and along with La Dolce Vita and 8 1/2, it is one of the movies that he is best remembered for! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: G. Dell'Orco Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare "country of origin" poster for this Italian movie! We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning! Not only that, but the only other first release Italian poster we ever auctioned was a one-panel 29 years ago, and it sold for $9,500. Also note that this poster has been laying flat for a long time and can be sent rolled in a tube, but the folds have not diminished, so it could also be re-folded and sent in a flat package. It will depend on how the winning bidder wants it sent. Condition: very good to fine. The poster has a tiny pinhole in the top blank area and very tiny tears in the top of the right blank border.
