Frank Sinatra (born Francis Albert Sinatra) was a legendary singer of the 1940s, who became a major movie star that same decade, and continued singing and acting for many years. Some of his movies include: many MGM musicals (some with Gene Kelly), as well as dramatic roles like The Man With The Golden Arm (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), The Manchurian Candidate, and From Here To Eternity (winner of the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film). He, along with his best friends, were known as The Rat Pack, and he was the inspiration for the "Johnny Fontaine" character in the Godfather movies! AND Ava Gardner was an actress from the 1940s to the 1980s. Surprisingly, Hollywood did not recognize the talents of this beautiful actress for years, because she had a long string of tiny or uncredited roles before she became a star! Some of her movies include: Mogambo (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), The Killers, On the Beach, The Barefoot Contessa, Bhowani Junction, and many others! She was married three times to famous celebrities Mickey Rooney, Artie Shaw, and Frank Sinatra.
