An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Docks of New York, the 1945 Wallace Fox juvenile crime comedy (produced by Sam Katzman and Jack Dietz) starring The East Side Kids (including Leo Gorcey, Huntz Hall, and Billy Benedict), Gloria Pope, Carlyle Blackwell Jr., Betty Blythe, Cy Kendall, and Bernard Gorcey. Note that Bernard Gorcey was star Leo Gorcey's father, and he played Louie, the owner of the Sweet Shop, where the boys frequently hung out, and Louie was often involved in slapstick gags, and many times Leo Gorcey would be tormenting or slapping his own father! We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning! Note also that this poster has never been machine folded! Some pre-1970 half-sheet posters were machine folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 half-sheet posters (note that most post-1970 half-sheets were NOT machine folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those half-sheets). Condition: good. There is light rippling and discoloration throughout the poster from exposure to moisture and there is some paper loss at left (see our image). It has a few tears along portions of the edges (partially repaired with tape from the back). After proper restoration the poster will look fantastic, but bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on it. Learn More about condition grades
