An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Chapter #4 (The Water Trap) One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) The Ghost City, the 1923 Jay Marchant (billed as "J. Marchant") silent cowboy western serial ("Universal chapter play") starring Pete Morrison, Margaret Morris, Al Wilson, Frank Rice, Bud Osborne, and Lola Todd. Note that Al Wilson was a stunt pilot who became a producer and actor in a number of movies between 1923 and 1932 (including performing some stunts in Hell's Angels in 1930), when he sadly died performing airplane stunts at an air show. He was only 36. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned three examples of this one-sheet, and the last one was 18 years ago, and one of those three is likely this same poster that was reconsigned! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and pretty minor fold wear. It had a pinhole in each corner and a 1 1/2" tear in the bottom right blank corner. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame.
