An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

He Was Her Man, the 1934 Lloyd Bacon San Francisco California romantic gangster crime melodrama (a really odd role for Cagney!; he plays a squealing criminal who double-crossed his fellow criminals and causes one of them to die, and his boss sends two hitmen to kill him, but he meets ex-prostitute Joan Blondell, and they fall in love, and avoid the hitmen!) starring James Cagney, Joan Blondell, Victor Jory, Frank Craven, and Sarah Padden. Movie paper of any kind from this title is virtually non-existent!
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper items from this movie are incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned a window card and a few stills from this movie (and NO other movie paper) until we received this lobby card, which is one of eight we are auctioning (see below). This is likely one of the absolute most rare James Cagney titles there is! We don't know exactly why it seems so much more rare than his other 1930s titles, but it surely is. The cards in this set are in lesser condition, but it seems a miracle they have survived at all, and of course, restoration can be performed that will make them look great!!

Note that this is one of seven complete sets of lobby cards that we were consigned that are highly prized by collectors, so we are auctioning each of the eight cards in each of the seven sets in its own individual auction! This means you can bid on any or all of the eight cards in this very desirable set, something that hardly ever happens with this title!
Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: good to very good. There is slight uneven darkening in the left half of the top blank border, with a small tear in the left of the top blank border. There are tiny bits of surface paper loss scattered in the top and right blank borders. There is surface paper loss on the back of the left half of the bottom border, with a few tiny bits of paper loss in part of that area (see our images). Other than the above defects, which only affect the blank white borders, the card is in pretty nice condition. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
