An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Thirty by Forty Movie Poster (30x40; measures 30" x 40" [76 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) Bunny Lake Is Missing, the 1965 Otto Preminger English kidnapping psychological suspense mystery crime thriller ("The search for 'Bunny Lake' is on!"; "No one admitted while the clock is ticking!"; "It's the suspense-terror psycho-case that had Scotland Yard baffled!"; "From the novel by Evelyn Piper"; about a woman who reports her young daughter is missing, and over time, police start to doubt whether the girl ever existed!) starring Laurence Olivier, Carol Lynley, Keir Dullea, Martita Hunt, The Zombies, Noel Coward ("as Wilson"), and Suky Appleby (in the title role as Felicia 'Bunny' Lake) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Saul Bass Important Added Info: Note that there is a "regular" 30x40 for this movie, which looks like the one-sheet. But THIS is a special 30x40 that we have auctioned only once before. It has "BUNNY LAKE CLOCK POSTER" stamped on the back, and it is printed on one-sheet-like paper, and was folded as a one-sheet was, but it measures 30" x 40". A knowledgeable collector sent us an article from a 1965 Motion Picture Exhibitor which stated that "Two parts of the campaign will be adhered to strictly, even if they have to be included in exhibition contracts. One of those calls for a gadget to be delivered with each print of the picture and set up in the lobby. This is a sort of clock that completes a circle during the 107 minute running time of the film, and shows how long an audience has to wait until it will be admitted" (the other part was to play a song by The Zombies which praised the movie while people waited). The article goes on to say that, "Preminger expected that 400 prints of the picture will be playing around, and 400 clock gizmos will tag along." The pressbook for the movie shows the "clock display" which theaters could order. We don't know if "400" theaters actually took part in this promotion, but we imagine that few ordered this poster to announce the upcoming "clock display". Condition: fair to good. It appears the poster was used to back someone using a stencil and there are stains and areas of discoloration scattered on front and back (see our image). Learn More about condition grades
