I didn't mean to do no bad thing."; "I'm George... I always knowed Lennie would get us into a mess... A bad mess."; "I'm Mae... I'm straight, I tell you... Nobody's got no right to call me names."; "Sure I got a husband! He ain't never home. I got nobody to talk to... I got nobody to be with... I want to see somebody... Just see 'em and talk to 'em. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). Note that we gave this condition grade to a very few posters that were in pretty good condition prior to linenbacking, but which were not all that well linenbacked, and which could be fairly easily re-backed with only minor additional restoration. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and minor fold wear. There were creases, tiny tears, and some other minor defects in the borders. The poster was mounted on to a thin linen many years ago, and it is separating from that linen. If I owned the poster, I would have it re-backed. Once it was properly re-backed, and the minor border defects restored, the poster would look great, and there would be next-to-no paint restoration anywhere on the poster.
