An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Fountain, the 1934 John Cromwell World War I (WWI) Holland military romantic love triangle melodrama ("From the novel by Charles Morgan"; Holland was "neutral" in World War I, but was pro-Germany, and this movie centers around a captured British officer who is allowed to live in a nobleman's house, but it turns out the nobleman is married to the British officer's childhood sweetheart) starring Ann Harding, Brian Aherne, Paul Lukas, Jean Hersholt, Ralph Forbes, and Violet Kemble Cooper NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that while we have auctioned five lobby cards from this movie, we have never before auctioned THIS great close up card! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good. The card has smudges and stains around the edges, with a water stain in Harding's forehead and faint water stains in and below her eye. There are two dot stains in Aherne's cheek and forehead. The card is an excellent candidate for restoration, because it is likely many of the stains and smudges can be removed chemically, but bear this in mind before bidding.
