An Original Vintage Austrian Film Program (measures 6" x 9" [15 x 23 cm]; 8 pages) (Learn More) Olympia 1. Teil - Fest der Volker (released in the U.S. as "The Olympiad"), the 1938 Leni Riefenstahl (movie actress who became a director for Hitler and made "Triumph of the Will" and this film) German Olympic sports documentary featuring documentary footage of the Olympic events, which included the top athletes from Germany, but also from the other competing countries, including the black athletes from the U.S., most notably Jesse Owens and Ralph Metcalfe. Adolf Hitler appears in the movie, and there are additional sequences of athletes performing (some in the nude), which were filmed especially for this movie. Note that this documentary on the 1936 Berlin Olympics was so massive that it was released in two parts (the first part was "Olympia Part I: Festival of the Nations", and the second part was "Olympia Part II: Festival of Beauty"; so technically this movie should be referred to as "Festival of the Nations", but because most people know it under the title of "Olympia" or "Olympiad", we refer to it in that way). Important Added Info: Note that this program is completely undated, but it is exactly in the style of other Austrian programs of the 1930s, and an expert tells us that it is indeed from 1938. What is very unusual is that this program includes an image of Jesse Owens, who was NOT pictured in the original German release program, but was pictured when the movie was re-released in Germany in 1958 (the expert tells us that this movie was released in Austria just before they were annexed by Germany in 1938, so that is why Owens appears, because he surely would not have appeared after the annexation!). Note that this program contains an unclothed woman (we have been told that it is Leni Riefenstahl herself), so we have placed white bars over those areas, for those who are bothered by such images. Of course, the actual program does not have those white bars! Note that we have provided an image of four of the pages of this 8-page program (we did this by opening it and laying it flat and photographing the front and back cover together, and two of the interior pages together). You can see the four of the eight pages, and can well determine the exact condition of it from our super-sized image, but realize that there are four pages you are not seeing. But of course this means that the front cover appears in the top right of our image, but normally, the program would be folded down the center and you would view the cover by itself (and it will be sent folded as was originally intended). Condition: very good. There is a white sticker on the top left of the back cover, but otherwise, the program is in nice condition (and the sticker can surely be removed by a talented amateur or a professional).
