A Linenbacked French Advertising Poster (measures 45 1/2" x 61" [116 x 155 cm]) (Learn More) Pierrot Gourmand was a French confectionery company founded by Parisian confectioner Georges Evrard in 1892. The company was best known for it's lollipops which were available in many flavors (and they were one of the first companies to wrap their lollipops in printed paper). The 1950s were the golden age of Pierrot Gourmand, and they produced 2000 tons of confectionery each year. Unfortunately, while the brand name still exists, the company itself went bankrupt in 1976 If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had some tiny bits of paper loss on parts of some folds, with some scuffs in the solid black areas. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
