An Original Vintage Folded Special Movie Poster (measures 22 1/4" x 28" [57 x 71 cm]) (Learn More)

Gerard Damiano's Deep Throat, the classic 1972 Gerard Damiano sexploitation movie ("How far does a girl have to go to untangle her tingle?") starring Linda Lovelace, Harry Reems, Dolly Sharp, Bill Harrison, William Love, and Carol Connors. Of course, this was the first x-rated hardcore movie that "crossed over" and was seen by general audiences, and it opened the floodgates for many, many more such movies, and it definitely has a significant place in movie history.

Important Added Info: Note that this is a "special" poster for this landmark movie which we have never auctioned before! What is it? First, some history about the different posters for this movie. There are three different styles of one-sheet we have auctioned, two with a photographic image (which measure 28" x 40 1/2" and 25 1/4" 38", and they are identical to that shown in the pressbook), and one with an artwork image (which measures 25 1/4" x 35 1/4", and it has a "1973" after the artist's signature). Given that the movie was shown in a huge number of places over the first couple of years after its initial release, it seems likely that many of the posters would have been printed after the very first release of the movie. It seems possible that one of these three posters was created first, and the other two likely created soon after, but we can't say for sure. HOWEVER, there are also posters that are smaller than one-sheets that look almost the same. In 2009 we auctioned a poster that measured 23" x 29" that has a "light green" background and that sold for $413. NOW we have been consigned this different "smaller" poster that measures 22 1/4" x 28", and has the same yellow background that the photographic one-sheets have. We have NEVER auctioned this poster before, and we have not auctioned another example of the 23" x 29" poster since 2009, so clearly both posters are extremely rare, and we feel certain they were created soon after the movie was first released, but, as mentioned above with the one-sheets, we can't say exactly when they were created. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Condition: very good to fine. There are tiny faint smudges in the right of the bottom border that look to be a very minor printing defect. Otherwise the poster is in excellent condition!
