An Original 1954 (from the first release of this movie in Germany) Vintage German Film Program (measures 8" x 11" [20 x 28 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More) Zorro's Black Whip, the 1944 Spencer Gordon Bennet & Wallace Grissell cowboy western serial ("A Republic Serial in 12 Chapters"; "'ZORRO' character Created by Johnston McCulley"; this movie took the unusual twist on the old character in having it be a woman who dons the Zorro outfit!) starring George J. Lewis, Linda Stirling (in the title role as The Black Whip!), Lucien Littlefield, Francis McDonald, Hal Taliaferro, John Merton, Tom Chatterton, John Hamilton, and Robert J. Wilke NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that when this movie was released in Germany in 1954, it was re-titled "Zorro's Return". Why? Because the previous year, they had released "Zorro Rides Again" as "Zorro's Black Whip" (this was either a mistake, or they just liked the title better). But then, the following year, they released the actual "Zorro's Black Whip" in Germany, and since they had already used that name, they had to re-title this one as well, which they called "Zorro's Return"! Also note that apparently the feature version of this movie was split into two different parts (or the chapters were joined together into just two parts) when it played in Germany in 1954 (perhaps they showed them at Saturday matinees there), because the cover of this program references Part I and Part II. Note that we have provided an image of all the pages of this 4-page program (we did this by opening it and laying it flat and photographing the front and back cover together, and the interior two pages together). This way, you see the entire program, and can well determine the exact condition of it from our super-sized image. But of course this means that the front cover appears in the top right of our image, but normally, the program would be folded down the center and you would view the cover by itself (and it will be sent folded as was originally intended).
