Important Added Info: Note that this poster has a REALLY major defect that greatly devalues it, but it also has a wonderful story behind it, and we leave it to bidders to decide how to value the poster! The poster was used in the tiny town of Portageville, Missouri, which is in the middle of the Ozarks. The manager of the theater Charles Whittenburg wanted to show "Tobacco Roody" in 1970, but the mayor of Portageville, Roy Moore, and the city council, sent Joe Moore, the Chief of Police, and likely the brother of the Mayor, to tell Mr. Whittenburg that if he went ahead and showed the movie he would be arrested and the theater would be closed. This outraged Mr. Whittenburg, and he instead closed the theater himself and showed nothing! He wanted something to display outside the theater so he took this three year old one-sheet for "You Only Live Twice" (why couldn't he choose a lesser one-sheet?), and he wrote the sad story of what happened all over the back of it and he displayed it in the theater display at the front of the theater, so people coming to see a movie would know why the movie theater was closed! We have no idea what happened after this, but he apparently saved this poster, and it is offered here. While it IS an original one-sheet to You Only Live Twice, it has major bleed-through from the writing on the back (see our image), so, while it could be restored, we kind of think it is more interesting for the back of the poster, but we leave that to bidders to decide.

Condition: poor. The poster has major bleed-through from writing on the back (see above). Please do not bid unless you are going to display the back of the poster for its interesting historical significance, or if you intend to have the poster restored.
