An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 25" x 39") (Learn More) The Getaway, the classic 1972 Sam Peckinpah romantic crime action thriller ("Screenplay by Walter Hill"; "From the novel by Jim Thompson") starring Steve McQueen (as Doc McCoy), Ali MacGraw (as Carol McCoy), Ben Johnson (as Jack Beynon), Al Lettieri (as Rudy Butler), Sally Struthers ("as Fran"), Slim Pickens, Jack Dodson, Dub Taylor, and Bo Hopkins. Note that the source novel of this movie was pretty "unfilmable" as written (especially the ending!), but Walter Hill did an excellent job adapting it, and while it is not the same story, it is in many ways faithful to the original, and it is certainly one of the best movies of its kind ever made! Important Added Info: Note that poster exchanges would sometimes run out of posters that they ordered, and, because they knew that theaters badly needed the posters (they couldn't show a movie without a poster on the wall!), they would often improvise, and send them the next best thing. In the case of 30x40s, when they ran out of them, they had stock 30" x 40" sized sheets with a colorful border around the edges, and they would glue a one-sheet (after trimming the borders) to the center of that sheet, and then send the theater that instead! Offered in this auction is one of those "stock" 30x40s, with an original one-sheet with trimmed borders glued to the center. Please do not bid on this poster thinking you are purchasing a 30x40, as you are bidding on a one-sheet with its borders trimmed that has been glued to a stock 30x40 poster! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good.
