Artist: Tom Jung Important Added Info: Note that this is a VERY unusual poster! Why? Because it is printed on a "matte" paper (non-glossy), while almost all other one-sheets of this type (NSS style B) that we have previously seen have been printed on glossy paper (only TWO of the 166 style B NSS style one-sheets from Empire Strikes Back that we have auctioned were printed on matte paper like this one, and the other 164 were printed on glossy paper)! The poster was consigned to us by a dealer who acquired it (along with many other Star Wars posters) at the time the first three movies came out (from 1977 through the 1980s), and we feel certain it is an original poster. So how do we explain this poster? Perhaps it is from some sort of test run, and then it was decided to make the posters glossy. We contacted the leading Star Wars experts and asked them if they have ever seen this poster before, or know anything more about it, and they replied that they thought it might be an "after-hours" run or perhaps used to "clean the printing plates", but they had never seen or heard of it before either. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this poster has a slight printing issue that only affects the last characters of the Title and NSS number in the bottom white border. All of the Empire style B posters that were produced by the National Screen Service are like this and it is not considered a defect. This auction is one of 520 auctions in eMoviePoster.com's special "all-Star Wars" auction! Where did this remarkable selection come from? It all started when we were contacted by a VERY long time collector of Star Wars posters, who told us he wanted to sell his entire collector, and we started with his 296 (which included many of the most rare and desirable ones) and we then asked our other 2,500+ consignors if they had any other Star Wars posters (or related items) that we did not already have, and the result is this amazing collection of 520 auctions, and every item will have a new owner once the auctions end, because all truly have no reserve. If one tried to duplicate this collection, it would surely take MANY years to do so! Condition: very good to fine. The poster is in really nice condition, but bear in mind that it is printed on a different "matte" paper (see above). Learn More about condition grades
