Peterson"; about the difficulties of a black African American family with a teenage son) starring Johnny Nash, Estelle Hemsley, Ruby Dee, Frederick O'Neal, and Ellen Holly. Note that this movie was produced by Hecht-Hill-Lancaster, which was Burt Lancaster's production company, and was one more of their many efforts to bring public attention to unpopular and "difficult" issues, in this case, how hard it was at that time for a black family to survive and raise their children to be responsible adults. Largely forgotten today, this movie was groundbreaking in its day for its ultra-realistic portrayal of a "typical" black family, and the difficulties it faced on a day-to-day basis.
