Date Sold 10/3/2021 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. a lot of 7 miscellaneous items (ranging in size from 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" to 8 1/2" x 11") from the Star Wars franchise. In addition to a commercially packaged film cell featuring a stunning scene from The Empire Strikes Back, this lot features four back issues of Star Wars Insider from 1996-1997, including the issue celebrating the Star Wars Trilogy Special Edition; a long out-of-print back issue of Mad Magazine from 1996 sarcastically "honoring" Star Wars and featuring a wraparound cover painting by celebrated sci-fi artist Vincent Di Fate; and finally, a Star Wars #3 diamond reprint comic from 1977, Battle on the Death Star. Of course, Star Wars is the American epic space opera franchise created by George Lucas in 1977. The first film in the series, Star Wars (which was later subtitled Episode IV: A New Hope) was released in 1977 and became a worldwide phenomenon. It was followed by The Empire Strikes Back in 1980, and Return of the Jedi in 1983 (these three films are considered "the original trilogy"). Note that the Star Wars #3 comic is a reprint and NOT the original. Also, note that the items in this lot are from the 1970s to the 1990s, and there are images of all of them.
