An Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Publicity Still (Learn More) Bozo the Clown is a clown character created for children's entertainment and was widely popular in the second half of the 20th century. He was created by Alan W. Livingston and first portrayed by Pinto Colvig for a children's storytelling record album and illustrated read-along book set in 1946. After the creative rights to Bozo were purchased by Larry Harmon in 1956, the character became a common franchise across the United States, with local television stations producing their own Bozo shows featuring the character. Bozo TV shows were also produced in other countries including Mexico, Brazil, Greece, Australia, and Thailand. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Bozo The Clown! Our consignor is a longtime dealer who purchased this publicity still and a number of others from a man named David, who was in the military and told our consignor that he obtained these in person (and several of them are personalized to him). Our consignor does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signatures from this collection are likely authentic. Also note that many celebrities kept multiple 8" x 10" (or smaller) copies of good publicity images of themselves to sign for fans, and also many memorabilia shops sold such copy stills themselves. While they are not original theater-used stills, they are usually excellent clear copies, with a great shot of that celebrity in their heyday, which, when signed by the celebrity, makes for a wonderful framed picture on any fan's wall! As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.
