An Original Vintage Linenbacked Belgian World War II Poster (measures 11 3/4" x 16 1/2" [30 x 42 cm]) (Learn More)

Pas de Parlottes! Au Travail! (literally translate to "No Talking! To Work!"), the 1940s Belgian World War II (WWII) poster created by the Nazi German occupying forces, telling workers not to waste time talking, and warning of the consequences of not repairing railways and factories damaged by the war. Note that this poster features art of some men standing around talking, while other men are industriously repairing war damage. Note that despite being neutral at the start of World War II, Belgium found itself at war after the country was invaded by German forces in May of 1940. After 18 days of fighting in which Belgian forces were pushed back into a small pocket in the north-east of the country, the Belgian military surrendered to the Germans, beginning an occupation that would endure until 1944.

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had some creases scattered throughout, with a tape stain in each corner. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
