Ornery enough to take on the entire Apache nation!"; "TWO TOUGH TEXANS take on a tribe of renegade Apaches!"; "BECK... A seasoned Indian fighter!"; "BECK... Led the fight to survival against a land that fights back!"; "TRAVIS and LISBETH... Young, brave... In love!"; "ARLISS... A pint-sized rawhide rebel!"; "WHITE... Always hungry for a fight and SEARCY... Always hungry!"; "They followed the Apache Trail ...across an untamed land!"; "Based on the book by Fred Gipson", which he wrote in 1963, four years after he wrote "Old Yeller"; the book is a direct sequel to "Old Yeller"; Savage Sam is the son of Old Yeller, four years later; but there were some serious problems with this movie!; the book brought back the exact same characters from "Old Yeller", but the movie producers apparently were unable or unwilling to re-hire Dorothy McGuire, Fess Parker, and Chuck Connors, so they re-cast McGuire's role, left out Connors' role entirely, and replaced Fess Parker's father with an unexplained uncle, played by Brian Keith; Tommy Kirk and Kevin Corcoran DID reprise their roles, as did Jeff York as the loutish Bud Searcy, but Kirk and Corcoran were getting too old to play cute kids; worst of all, Savage Sam is some sort of hound dog, and NOT any sort of Lab mix like Old Yeller was, so it really strained the imagination to think that the "young Yeller" at the end of the first movie had grown into Savage Sam!) starring Brian Keith, Tommy Kirk, Marta Kristen, Kevin Corcoran, Dewey Martin, Jeff York, Rafael Campos, and Slim Pickens NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good to very good. The title card has many scuffs and creases scattered throughout but the other cards are in better condition. Learn More about condition grades
