He often worked with Orson Welles and some of his movies include: Citizen Kane, The Third Man, Touch of Evil, Duel in the Sun, Shadow of a Doubt, and Portrait of Jenny. While he never achieved top rank fame, he did note that "Orson Welles lists Citizen Kane as his best film, Alfred Hitchcock opts for Shadow of a Doubt and Sir Carol Reed chose The Third Man - and I'm in all of them."
