An Undated (probably 1940s) Re-Release Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Here Comes the Navy, the 1934 Lloyd Bacon Naval military sailor romantic love triangle comedy ("Join the world and see the Navy!"; "All the thrills and glory of the U.S. fleet... in action!"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; about a brash young sailor who resists learning from an older experienced sailor, and there is a beautiful young woman they are both interested in; Cagney would appear in several movies with this exact same plot, but in different settings, and it was also used with many other actors) starring James Cagney, Pat O'Brien, Gloria Stuart, Frank McHugh, George Irving, Guinn 'Big Boy' Williams, Robert Barrat, "and the U.S. Fleet". Note that the sailors in the movie are stationed on the U.S.S. Arizona, which just seven years later would be sunk at Pearl Harbor. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned eight lobby cards from the 1940s re-release of this movie, but we have NEVER auctioned this title card, and we have also never auctioned a first release title card! Note that this card looks like it could be a 1934 first release card, and many people have unknowingly sold these 1940s re-release cards as first release. It has a different title design than the first release cards, and this card says "Presented by Warner Bros.", whereas the original cards said "A Warner Bros. & Vitaphone Production". Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good to very good. The card had creases, pinholes, and surface paper loss in parts of the corners and in the top center, where there was a piece of tape on the back, and also an irregular tear in the top right that extended into the end of the tagline, and scratches in the lower left. Someone put tape on the back of the above defects and performed slight restoration to the front without backing the card. You can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects, but it displays pretty well. Learn More about condition grades
