Date Sold 4/18/2021 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. a lot of 3 8x10 stills from Marlene Dietrich movies. Note that we feel strongly that all three of these stills are from the 1930s. See below for their condition. Measurements: from 7" x 9" to 8" x 10"Marlene Dietrich was a very popular German actress and singer from the 1920s through the 1950s! She started in German movies in the 1920s, and then got her big break in Josef von Sternberg's "The Blue Angel", which was made in both a German and an English version. That led to a series of wonderful movies with von Sternberg. Some of her other movies include: Destry Rides Again, Shanghai Express, The Scarlet Empress, A Foreign Affair, Morocco (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Blonde Venus, Touch of Evil, Witness for the Prosecution, and Judgment at Nuremberg. She passed away in 1992 at the age of 90. We do not provide a list of these items, but there are images of all of them. Condition: good. As we said above, we believe these stills are surely from the first release of these movies in the 1930s. The portrait of von Sternberg is in pretty nice condition. The still with Dietrich and Anna May Wong has been trimmed and glued to a board, and there is paper loss in the bottom. The still with Dietrich alone was almost surely trimmed from a larger size, perhaps 11" x 14", but it now measures around 8" x 9 1/2", with uneven borders, and it has a 2" tear in the right of the top border.
