What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had some tiny areas of paper loss scattered in random areas, mostly near the top and in the bottom credits area, and some in the bottom of the lower right inset image, but there are also some tiny areas scattered throughout the poster. Other than this scattered paper loss, the poster was in pretty nice condition prior to linenbacking. Either the poster was backed "as is", or the surface paper loss was acquired after it was backed. In either case, a restorer could certainly perform touch up to those many tiny areas of surface paper loss, without re-backing the poster. Also, the poster was roughly handled at some point after it was backed, and it now has a long slightly diagonal crease running across the top, in both the poster and the linen, and it affects the top edge of the image. Please bear all of the above in mind before bidding on this extremely rare poster. Learn More about condition grades
