An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) A Man's Land, the 1932 Phil Rosen romantic cowboy western (about the foreman of a western ranch, and the absentee owner dies, and he leaves half the ranch to the foreman, and half to his daughter, and she comes out west to try to convince the foreman to turn it into a dude ranch, which he hates, and meanwhile, someone is rustling their cattle) starring Hoot Gibson, Marian Shilling, Al Bridge, Skeeter Bill Robbins, Charles King, Ethel Wales, Hal Burney, Robert Ellis, Bill Nye, and "Hoot Gibson's Cowboys". Note that "Hoot Gibson's Cowboys" were billed in this movie and in "The Gay Buckaroo" the same year, but we could not find any explanation for who "Hoot Gibson's Cowboys" were. Condition: very good. The poster had small paper loss at the top crossfold and a thin strip of paper loss starting in the lower part of Gibson's shirt at center and extending down to an inch below the bottom crossfold, all on the vertical foldline. There was a similar thin strip of paper loss in the right of the bottom foldline. There were some creases, smudges, tears, and areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The person who did the restoration put new blank white paper over all the borders to even out the appearance (but the small writing at the bottom of the poster was not covered over). This is a common technique used by several top restorers. It is done so well that the majority of collectors are not even aware it has been done, and many do not feel it to be a significant detraction (since it is only blank white area).
