Important Added Info: Note that this is surely a re-release poster, but given that Hitchcock was not pictured on hardly any posters for his movies until after 1960, we think it is also quite possible this poster is from a very early 1960s (we have seen versions with 1962 overprinted) Belgian re-release (because after the huge success of "Psycho", Hitchcock himself started turning up on most re-release posters. Also note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 12 3/4" x 21 1/2" [32 x 55 cm]. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster originally had a blank top that was neatly trimmed off (this is commonly done with Belgian posters, similar to how the blank top is trimmed off of U.S. window cards). The poster also had several horizontal folds with some wear on the foldlines and some smudges and scuffs scattered in the image. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Learn More about condition grades
