However, some posters are printed by GAU and some are printed by GCIU. Because GAU became GCIU in 1983, we believe that these posters are from 1983, and were being printed when the printer union changed their name. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked and during the backing process, its defects were repaired and it now looks nice. From any reasonable viewing distance, you can't see what restoration was done. It may have had only very minor defects, or it may have had more significant defects that were well restored. It is possible that you can see SOME slight traces of the restoration from a distance, but if so, we try clearly note it below. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster was never folded and had only some minor scuffs some solid background areas, but was otherwise in nice condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well.
