Our Hearts Were Young and Gay, the 1944 Lewis Allen Europe romantic travel comedy ("From the gay best seller that stole America's heart!"; "Based on the book 'Our Hearts Were Young and Gay' by Cornelia Otis Skinner and Emily Kimbrough"; about a real life trip that young actress Cornelia Otis Skinner, daughter of famed actor Otis Skinner, took to Europe with her best friend; the book was a best seller, and was then turned into this enjoyable movie!) starring Gail Russell ("of 'The Uninvited'"), Diana Lynn ("of 'The Miracle of Morgan's Creek'"), Charlie Ruggles, Dorothy Gish, Beulah Bondi, James Brown, and Bill Edwards.

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair. The poster had tears and areas of paper loss on parts of several folds and tears, paper loss, and stains across the bottom 4" of the poster. Overall, the poster was in fair condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Note that the restorer left a tiny bit of excess linen around all four sides of the poster (they left a small border in order to protect the poster from handling damage, but they did not leave a larger border, to allow it to more easily fit in a frame).
