An Autographed Color 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] REPRODUCTION Still (Learn More) James Whitmore was an actor from the 1950s to the 2000s. Throughout his long career, he alternated between TV, the Broadway stage, and Hollywood. Some of his movies include: The Shawshank Redemption, Battleground (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Tora! Tora! Tora!, and Give 'em Hell, Harry! (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; the film version of his one-man stage show, where he portrayed President Harry Truman). He was also memorable on a 1963 episode of "The Twilight Zone", playing "Captain Benteen", the captain of a group of shipwrecked survivors of a space ship crash on a distant planet! Whitmore passed away in 2009 at the age of 87. Important Added Info: Note that this REPRODUCTION still has been personally autographed (signed) by James Whitmore! Note that this item was consigned to us by a man who has been a major movie memorabilia dealer from the 1980s on. During that time, he would regularly purchase collections of movie memorabilia from both dealers and collectors, and in some of those collections he purchased autographed items. Both we and our consignor feel it is quite likely that the autograph on this item is authentic, but he does not have a certificate of authenticity. Condition: very good to fine.
