An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More)

The Great Gatsby, the 1926 Herbert Brenon silent romantic melodrama ("From the novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald") starring Warner Baxter (in the title role as Jay Gatsby), Lois Wilson (as Daisy Buchanan), Neil Hamilton (as Nick Carraway), Georgia Hale, William Powell (as George Wilson), and Carmelita Geraghty (as Jordan Baker). Note that there were three more movies based on this classic novel (which was published just one year before this 1926 move was released), one with Alan Ladd in 1949, one with Robert Redford in 1974, and one with Leonardo DiCaprio in 2013, but this first silent version is completely forgotten today, except by major film buffs! Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist (but a trailer does survive).

Important Added Info: Other than this glass slide, which was previously purchased from one of our auctions and has now been reconsigned, we have never before auctioned any posters or lobby cards from this movie! Also note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline).
