An Original Vintage Magazine (measures 8 1/2" x 11 1/2" [22 x 29 cm]) (Learn More)

Screen Romances, one of the many movie magazines sold to the public. Each issue features a great full color cover of a leading star of the day, plus condensed short "novelizations" of a group of then-currently playing movies (one would be longer and run as a "complete novel"; this began with the May 1936 issue, when they expanded the magazine). Each of the novelizations has lots of sepia images taken from the movie, plus portraits of some of the stars. Note that early in 1939, Screen Romances drastically lowered their price from 25 cents to 10 cents, and also lowered the page count by about 20%. Also note that at some point in the 1940s, they slightly changed the magazine's title to "Screen Romances Stories", but we are not sure for how long, and it reverted back to "Screen Romances".
Important Added Info: Note that we have provided a picture of the front cover of the magazine, a picture of an interior page (usually the table of contents page, if there is one), and a picture of one interior two-page spread (but we didn't make much effort to find the best one!). These images should greatly help you judge the overall condition of the magazine. Please know that these magazines are sealed in bags and are ready for shipping, and we cannot answer any questions about them or look through them for you, so please bid (or do not bid) based on the images we have provided.

Condition: fair. There is slight staining and tiny areas of paper loss in the lower right of the cover and many interior pages, and also paper loss in the bottom left of the back cover. Someone taped a piece of another cover to the front and back of the paper loss in the bottom right corner of the front cover. There is a small tape repair on the spine. Note that we have attempted to check to see if the magazine is complete and uncut, and we believe that it is. However, there is a slight possibility that we might have missed a small cut or a page that was neatly removed, and if that happens, you can return the magazine. We have solely provided an overall description of the condition of the magazine, but you can also refer to our super-sized images. Please bid (or not bid) based on that overall grade and by viewing the super-sized images.
