eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 5t649 COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO Belgian '55 Jean Marais as Edmond Dantes, art by Noel! Date Sold 10/25/2011Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Belgian Movie Poster (measures 14 1/2" x 18 1/4") (Learn More) Le Comte de Monte-Cristo (Episode II; released in the U.S. in 1955 as "The Count of Monte Cristo"), the 1954 Robert Vernay French/Italian romantic adventure melodrama starring Jean Marais (in the title role as Edmond Dantes, The Count of Monte Cristo), Lia Amanda (as Mercedes), Daniel Ivernel, Folco Lulli, Louis Seigner, Gualtiero Tumiati (as the Abbe Faria), Noel Roquevert (as Villefort), and Julien Bertheau (as Napoleon). Note that this movie was intended to be such a definitive rendering of the novel that it was over 3 hours long, which required that it be released in France in two parts! This is Part II of the movie (apparently, only Part II was released in the U.S., which seems like it would have been quite confusing for U.S. viewers!). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Guy Gerard Noel Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 14 1/2" x 18 1/4". Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good. The poster originally had a blank top that was neatly trimmed off (this is commonly done with Belgian posters, similar to how the blank top is trimmed off of U.S. window cards). There are remnants of a snipe across the bottom and there are creases scattered throughout the poster. Learn More about condition grades
