Date Sold 9/15/2020Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 4 Original 1935 Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Scotland Yard Mystery (released in the U.S. in 1935 as "The Living Dead"), the 1933 Thomas Bentley English horror fantasy crime mystery suspense thriller ("From a play by Wallace Geoffrey"; about a Scotland Yard investigator trying to stop an evil genius who has created a serum that makes people appear dead, so they can collect on their life insurance, and then when the serum wears off, they are fine again!) starring Gerald du Maurier (a very distinguished British stage actor who appeared in a handful of silent movies from 1917 to 1920, and in a handful of sound movies in the early to mid 1930s; he is the father of author Daphne du Maurier), George Curzon, Grete Natzler, Belle Chrystall, Leslie Perins, and Frederick Peisley. Note that when this movie was released in the U.S., it was given the far more commercial title of "The Living Dead", but that was certainly deceptive (although the original English title was also deceptive, because there was no mystery to the film, just a suspense thriller!). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: very good. One has some minor upper blank border defects but otherwise the cards are in pretty nice condition and they have no tape whatsoever on the front or back, and they never have had any restoration of any kind!
