An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (3sh; measures 41" x 81" [104 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) The Incredible Shrinking Man, the classic 1957 Jack Arnold science fiction (sci-fi) miniaturization fantasy adventure thriller ("A fascinating adventure into the unknown!"; "The most incredible story the screen has ever told!"; "Every hour he gets smaller.... Smaller... Smaller and moment by moment the terror mounts!..."; "Victim of Weird mist!"; "Day by Day he shrinks!"; "Science is baffled!"; "Cat becomes monster!"; "Terror at every turn!"; "Deadly spider attacks!"; "Lost in a floods fury!"; a highly literate screenplay by Richard Matheson from his own novel; surprisingly, the studio did not force Matheson to tack on an artificial "happy" ending, and it is lucky, for most people think the movie's actual ending is wonderful!; the special effects are primitive by today's standards, but they are very powerful, and work just fine) starring Grant Williams (in the title role), Randy Stuart, April Kent, Paul Langton, Raymond Bailey, William Schallert, and Orangey (as the cat Butch; Orangey was also Cat in "Breakfast At Tiffany's!") NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Reynold Brown Important Added Info: Note that this three-sheet, as well as the six-sheet and the insert, have a completely different image than that of the one-sheet, and it has great Reynold Brown art of the shrunken man fighting the giant cat. We have never auctioned this three-sheet before! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had an extra horizontal fold at the top and bottom of the poster. It had small tears, creases, and tiny paper loss on parts of many folds, and pinholes and some tears around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Also, after it was backed, it acquired a 1 1/2" tear in the right border to the right of the top of the "N" of "MAN", and it extends into the image background, with the paper slightly "lifting" from the linen in that area. Any restorer could easily re-glue this area without re-backing the poster. Learn More about condition grades
