He started in the early 1930s in straight dramatic roles, returned in 1937 in more dramatic roles, and then found his niche in westerns and serials in the 1940s. Some of his movies include: The Tiger Woman and Silver City Kid among scores of others. He played "Red Ryder" in many movies, and his horse was named Black Jack. He was also the title role on TV's "Mister Ed"! He passed away in 1973 at the age of 64. Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by Allan 'Rocky' Lane. It was a piece of an autograph book page that had Lane's signature on it, and it has been matted with a black & white REPRO of him. It also comes with a "certificate of authenticity". About the Collection this Item Comes From Note that this item (and 3 others we are auctioning this week, each in its own auction) was consigned to us by a man who was a major movie memorabilia dealer from the 1960s on. During that time, he would regularly attend collectibles shows as a dealer, and while he was at those shows, he would sometimes purchase autographed movie items from other exhibitors at those shows. He would also have items autographed by celebrity guests at those shows. Now, decades later, the dealer has consigned these autographed items to us. So all of these 4 autographed items we are auctioning were either obtained in person by this memorabilia dealer at collectible shows, or were purchased from dealers selling autographed items at collectible shows, and we feel it is quite likely that the autograph on this item is authentic! Note that each of the 4 items from this consignor all have this paragraph on them. Condition: good. The page was ripped out of the autograph book, which caused creases around the edges. There was paper loss in the right of the top of the page, slightly affecting the "e" of "Lane". Learn More about condition grades
