Note that this French film is often compared to the American film The Birth of a Nation. Artist: d'apres Georges Scott Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this French poster, which is a "country of origin" poster for this French movie. This is an extremely rare pre-World War II French poster! Virtually no French posters survive from before, during, or right after World War II (mostly only pre-war heavy stock lobby cards, and even those are rare). Apparently there were many paper shortages in France during World War II, resulting in the destruction of almost all pre-World War II posters! Also note that this French four-panel measures 93 1/4" x 125 1/4" [237 x 318 cm], and it was printed in 4 sections designed to overlap. Condition: good to very good. There is some darkening and staining on the back of the part of the poster that was on the outside when it was fully folded. There are some creases and several tears along the folds that were on the outside when the poster was fully folded. There are some creases, smudges, and tiny tears on some folds, and some tiny paper loss at some crossfolds. Learn More about condition grades
