An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Window Card (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) Abbott and Costello Meet the Killer, Boris Karloff, the 1949 Charles Barton screwball horror comedy ("More Ghoulish glee... Than when they met Frankenstein!"; "Help") starring Bud Abbott, Lou Costello (Abbott and Costello), Boris Karloff, Lenore Aubert, and Gar Moore. Note that this movie was originally titled "Easy Does It", and it was intended to be a Bob Hope comedy! However, the movie "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein" had just come out and was a huge hit, and Universal reworked the script for Abbott & Costello, and changed the title to "Abbott and Costello Meet the Killers"! In that script, the lead villain was a FEMALE character named "Madame Switzer"! Five days before shooting began, Boris Karloff was hired, and the character became a swami, and the title of the movie was changed yet again, to include Boris Karloff's name! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that the window card was folded across the center at one time, but someone put tape on the back of that fold to reinforce it, and we believe that re-folding the window card would lessen its condition. The card will need to be sent in a large flat package. Note that this window card is from a remarkable collection of 24 Abbott & Costello window cards (in 24 separate auctions) that a VERY dedicated collector assembled over many years! He has now consigned them to us, so this is a rare opportunity to purchase any of these window cards at one time, and of course, if one was dedicated enough, one could purchase all 24 and duplicate what took him decades to accomplish in a single day! Condition: fair to good. The card has darkening in the borders surrounding the image. There are some light stains and scuffs scattered through the image, with many light stains and staple holes in the top and bottom blank areas. The card was roughly folded across the middle at one time, and someone put paper tape on the back of that area, so the card cannot be re-folded. In spite of the above defects, the card can still be displayed and enjoyed, or restoration could be performed, but bear this in mind before bidding on this card. Learn More about condition grades
