He is known primarily for his iconic advertising images for Orangina, Bally Shoe, Perrier, and Air France. Villemot has had his work exhibited in museums and at least three books have been published which survey his art. He passed away in 1989 at the age of 78. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had tiny paper loss at several crossfolds, with some surface paper loss, creases, and scuffs along parts of the folds, with a 3" tear in the green background in the upper middle of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
