What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tears and areas of paper loss in the right half of the top horizontal fold, with a larger area of paper loss at the right of the top fold. It had tiny paper loss at the top two crossfolds and some tiny bits of paper loss on parts of the other folds, more so in the middle fold. It had areas of paper loss scattered down the right blank border. It had some scuffs scattered in the solid black areas at bottom left and bottom right. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. Someone backed the poster onto a thin linen many years ago, and they did not do a great job of restoration. If I owned this incredibly rare poster, I would surely immediately have it properly re-backed, and after proper restoration, it will display wonderfully, and it won't require a lot of paint restoration within the image. However, bear in mind all of the above before bidding on this poster. Learn More about condition grades
