An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Thirty by Forty Movie Poster (measures 30" x 40") (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's To Catch a Thief, the 1955 Alfred Hitchcock romantic crime mystery thriller ("It's a web of romance and suspense that spins you from delight to danger - then spirals to an explosive climax on the fabulous Riviera!"; "Based on the novel by David Dodge"; "Screenplay by John Michael Hayes"; about a retired jewel thief living on the Riviera, and there is a string of daring jewel robberies, so naturally, he is the lead suspect, and he decides to find the true thief himself, and he is aided by a beautiful rich young woman and her mother!) starring Cary Grant, Grace Kelly, Jessie Royce Landis, John Williams, Charles Vanel, Brigitte Auber, Rene Blancard, Georgette Anys, and Jean Martinelli. Note that Cary Grant had announced his retirement from movies in 1953, but he was lured out of retirement by Hitchcock to make this one. Also note that Jessie Royce Landis, who had played Grant's mother in "North by Northwest", this time played his potential mother-in-law, and yet, she was only eight years older than Grant, who had aged very well! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good. There are many creases throughout the poster. Someone put brown paper tape on the back of the entire left and right borders, where there were many creases and some small tears. Certainly, this great poster can be paperbacked and restored, but I do not know how much it would cost, nor how much paint would be required, and I don't know that the creases can be made to vanish 100%. But since there is virtually no paper loss or staining in the image, and since the creases are the main problem, I would think it is likely that the poster might look great after paperbacking, WITHOUT much paint restoration. But please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its significant creases throughout, and are willing to pay to have it properly restored! This poster has clear imperfections. We likely have written about those imperfections, but we may not have, as they likely can be seen by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster.
