John Steinbeck's The Red Pony, the 1949 Lewis Milestone California boy-and-his-beloved-horse family melodrama ("John Steinbeck's Great American Story!"; "Screen play by John Steinbeck"; based on his novella) starring Myrna Loy, Robert Mitchum, Louis Calhern, Shepperd Strudwick, Peter Miles (billed as "Introducing Peter Miles as Tom"), Margaret Hamilton, and Beau Bridges (in his first credited movie role!)
