An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Six-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 81" x 81") (Learn More) Revenge of the Creature, the 1955 Jack Arnold Universal monster Florida horror science fiction (sci-fi) 3-D (3D; 3-Dimension) sequel ("Terror is loose in the city!"; "Weird Monster escapes! Terror seizes city!"; "All New Thrills! Shock! Suspense!"; "Monster Escapes!"; "City flees in Terror!"; "Here at last! New thrill wonder 3-D Horrorscope!") starring John Agar, Lori Nelson, John Bromfield, Nester Paiva, Ricou Browning (who played the Gill Man underwater), Tom Hennesy (who played the Gill Man on land), Clint Eastwood (in his big screen [speaking] debut in a bit part as a lab assistant), Brett Halsey, and Flippy the Porpoise. Note that this movie was released in 3-D, but most first release U.S. posters don't bother to mention that (perhaps because the 3-D craze was dying down). Prior to linenbacking, it had at most a few very minor defects, and if it had any, those were corrected during the restoration process, and the poster was well backed. Read below for a description of those defects (if any!), and about the quality of the restoration (if I found anything worth commenting on!). You should also look at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). -------------------------------- This is the kind of poster EVERY collector dreams of owning! It is one of the all time great posters for a major movie, it has an image completely different from the others on the title, and it is in wonderful condition! I have looked extremely closely at every inch of the poster, and there are the tiniest of defects. The poster had a 1" tear in the monster's chest 1" above the girl's dress (directly in a line 5" above her index finger), otherwise, I can find no defects in the image! There are a few very minor border defects, and during the course of rolling and unrolling, the poster picked up a few minor creases in the excess linen around the edges, and one of those creases near the middle of the right border extends into the outer edge of the blank border. Overall, the poster was in fine condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, and looks great! I envy the person who purchases this wonderful poster! Learn More about condition grades
