Artist: Rene Gruau Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It had some creases and scuffs scattered throughout (it is difficult to tell how many were there before the poster was backed, and how many were acquired after). Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but after being backed, it was roughly handled, and it acquired many creases down the left and right borders of the excess linen, and some added creases and scuffs scattered in the poster (but in spite of this, I think most people would be happy to display the poster as is).
