A Group of 16 Photographic Negatives (measure 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm]) (Learn More) Collection of Football and Boxing Negatives, the group of 16 negatives showing a boxing match and a football game that took place at the Gator Bowl, and also the Blue Bonnet Bowl. We know that one of the boxing ones shows Floyd Patterson being knocked down by Ingemar Johansson and that another shows Sandy Saddler being pummeled by Willie Pep, but otherwise nothing about these, but we hope that someone viewing this auction will see our images and be able to identify more of them. Since both of the boxing matches we could identify were from 1959, we know there is a good chance that all the other 14 negatives are also from 1959. However, please do not bid on this group of negatives unless you can accept all the unknown about when they are from and who is pictured. If anyone knows more about these, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Important Added Info: Note that this (or these, in the case of multiple negatives) was created by and sent by the studio that produced this (in the year noted on this auction) to newspapers, magazines, TV stations, or reviewers, so that they could use them to create the highest quality ads. They can be used to make very high quality reproductions, but bear in mind that we are solely auctioning the physical negatives and NOT the right to reproduce them, so unless they are public domain, the new owner must acquire the rights elsewhere before reproducing them. NOTE THAT THE ITEM(S) YOU ARE PURCHASING IS A "NEGATIVE" THAT HAS A REVERSE IMAGE, AS SEEN IN OUR PHOTO (we also scanned them as well, using a special "negative setting", which reverses the image, so that you can see how the negative appears when you reverse the image, but the buyer of this auction will receive one or more negatives, NOT a positive image, as seen in our special scan). In the case of this lot, because there are more than 4 negatives, we only scanned 4 of them, but the winner will receive SIXTEEN negatives. Condition: very good.
