An Original Vintage Casting Directory (measures 9 1/2" x 12" [24 x 30 cm]; 91 pages) (Learn More)

Screen Library Service Film Catalog, the film catalog published from 1926 to 1931. Unlike casting directories of this time, which said "Casting Directory" on the cover, this one says "Film Catalog". A knowledgeable collector tells us that this was a catalog for 35mm nitrate film reels that were stored at the library. Casting directors and others would come to the library and view various characterization roles of the actors listed in the catalogs. This explains the tagline "Cast by film" on the cover. The only issue of it we have seen is one from June 15, 1926, which belonged to famous strongman Joe Bonomo, and had a great 2-page spread on him, and a stamp on the first interior page stating it was from his private library. It also had his name in cursive on the cover, which may or may not have been his signature.
Important Added Info: Note that we have pictured the front cover, the title page, and the interior page that shows the publishing information, and one or more interior 2-page spreads.

Condition: fair to good. The spine is missing and the cover is separated from the rest of the directory, and it has some paper loss in the top of the front and back cover. The interior pages are in pretty nice condition.
