Original Vintage Lobby Card (Measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) Raoul Walsh's The Man Who Came Back, the 1931 Raoul Walsh San Francisco California/Shanghai drug addiction romantic melodrama (about a woman who is a nightclub singer who becomes a drug addict, and a man who loses all his money and writes bad checks, and both end up in Shanghai in an opium den, and find love together, which allows them to change their lives and get back on the right path!) starring Janet Gaynor, Charles Farrell, Kenneth MacKenna, William Holden (no, not THAT William Holden, but another actor of the same name who made 20 movies between 1920 and 1931, and he died the next year, which was 7 years before the more famous William Holden made his first movie!), and Mary Forbes. Note that both Janet Gaynor and Charles Farrell had built their stardom playing exceptionally positive clean cut roles, and both no doubt shocked their fans with their portrayals in this movie!
