An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) Sophie Lang Goes West, the 1937 Charles Reisner jewel thief romantic crime adventure melodrama sequel ("The exciting and glamorous woman jewel thief is back with a new adventure-thrill!"; "From Stories by Frederick Irving Anderson"; the cute story of a reformed female jewel thief who leaves New York because she is constantly being accused of robberies she didn't commit, but she ends up on the train with a Sultan with a rare jewel, and of course, it is stolen, and all suspicion falls on her, but everything works out in the end!) starring Gertrude Michael (in the title role as Sophie Lang), Lee Bowman, Sandra Storme, Buster Crabbe (billed as "Larry Crabbe"), C. Henry Gordon, and Robert Cummings (Bob Cummings). Note that this was the third movie featuring this character (after 1934's "The Notorious Sophie Lang" and 1936's "The Return of Sophie Lang"). Apparently this movie did not do as well, because it was the final movie with this character. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: UPDATED 02/04/2011: Note that a knowledgeable collector pointed out that the woman is Sandra Storme and NOT Gertrude Michael as we initially listed. Please do not bid thinking it is Gertrude Michael. The collector also noted that Jed Prouty (in the glasses) and C. Henry Gordon (in the turban) are beside her. Condition: good. There was a 1/2" tear in the top center of the card that was repaired with tape from the back. Learn More about condition grades
