An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Herald (measures 4" x 7 1/4" [10 x 18 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More) Broadway Jones, the 1917 Joseph Kaufman silent New York City theater stage acting comedy (about a young man from Ohio who inherits a million dollars, and he goes to New York City to pursue his dream of being a Broadway composer; but he loses most of the money and returns home to try to raise more funds so that he can try again) starring George M. Cohan (in the title role as Broadway Jones), Marguerite Snow, Russell Bassett, Crauford Kent, Ida Darling, and Joseph W. Smiley. Note that everyone is familiar with George M. Cohan from the James Cagney biography, "Yankee Doodle Dandy", but Cohan primarily wrote and performed on Broadway, and only appeared in a total of five movies. This was his very first. He made two more within a year and then returned in the early 1930s for two more. Posters from any of those five movies are extremely rare. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned any movie paper from this movie until we received this herald!
